Donovan; Lt. Paul H. Graven; Dr. Pfluecker; Captain Hubert H. Biddle; Lt. Colonel Rene H. Juchli
25 October 1945
This document is a report of Ley's suicide. Its enumerated account describes the circumstances evidently based on the testimony of the sentinel assigned to Ley's cell, the Corporal of the Guard, the assistant prison officer, the German interned doctor in that cell block, and the American prison physician. Point 7 notes that "the noose was obtained by manually ripping the hemmed edge of a GI bath towel, twisting the strip of cloth so obtained and soaking it in water" (p. 1). This document is a typewritten original of excellent quality on browning paper.
