37.03 (Jodl interrogation, 16 Nov. 1945)
July 1940; 7 November 1943
This document is a report of an interrogation of the witness conducted on the noted date. The entire substance of the summary concerns Jodl's disowning his comment, made in a 1943 speech in Munich, that Hitler had informed him during the western campaign that Germany would move against the "Bolshevik East" as soon as the military situation made such an operation feasible. Jodl now insists that he did not learn of Hitler's intentions toward Russia until some five weeks after the western campaign ended. This document is a typewritten copy of very good quality on sturdy paper in good condition.
